ON TO 2050 Launches in October

CMAP's ON TO 2050 launch event to be held at Millennium Park

Thousands of residents from across metropolitan Chicago have contributed their ideas to ON TO 2050, our region's next comprehensive plan. The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning invites you to join us on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, in beautiful Millennium Park in Chicago, to celebrate the launch of ON TO 2050, our region's blueprint for a resilient, inclusive, thriving future.

That future belongs to, and relies upon, all of us-and the work to achieve it starts now. Keynote speaker Clarence Anthony, executive director of the National League of Cities, will inspire attendees to continue working together to tackle our challenges and achieve the three principles set forth in ON TO 2050: Inclusive Growth, Resilience, and Prioritized Investment. Local leaders from across metropolitan Chicago will discuss their action plans for achieving priorities and creating the future our region deserves.

Call for LTA &
Community Planning Projects

CMAP and the RTA are now accepting applications for their 2018 technical assistance programs

The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning and the Regional Transportation Authority are soliciting project proposals for their joint technical assistance programs for 2018. CMAP established the Local Technical Assistance (LTA) program to direct resources to communities pursuing planning work that helps to implement GO TO 2040. Beginning with the next call for projects, the agency will now focus efforts on implementing ON TO 2050.

the RTA's Community Planning program has encouraged municipalities in the region to develop walkable and more sustainable communities near transit stations and along transit corridors. Throughout the 20-year history of the program, the RTA has invested over $20 million in nearly 200 projects by partnering with the region's transit agencies, county governments, several councils of mayors and local units of government.

The submission deadline for applications to both programs is 12 PM CST October 26, 2018

The joint LTA / Community Planning program application is available here
